How Max Weber analyzed socialism?part①
In this video I want to introduce the analysis of max Weber on Socialism
Max Weber in his speech criticized and at the same time thinks highly of marxism(1).
first I want to introduce you the critical analysis.
The point that max weber had criticized is the inevitability of bureaucratization of socialism.
he thought even if succesed socialism, society couldn't organize well, couldn't manage well without bureaucracy(1).
cause as a premise we need some bureaucratic organization for manage socialist country.
and if there is no such a bureaucracy we couldn't manage our society along with the road towards socialism.
But because of this feature that socialism has, socialist country could trap in more bureaucratic country than capitalist country because socialist government would have more power than capitalist country has(1).
so this is the contradiction of socialism.
socialism originally hope the liberation of human, but if we hope to manage well especially in economic field it would paradoxically fall in tyranny.
but this tendency had been noticed by Lenin and Trotsky these Marxist(2).
but they just attributed this failure not to the basical problem that their society has but to the individual problem such as Stalinism as Trotsky mentioned(3)
And if I mention about the successful example that hadn't falled in horrible tyranny we can just only find Paris commune and kibbutz these types of too weak to manage economically.
so paradoxically these communities didn't fall to tyranny.
although max Weber's analysis also has limitation but his point is worth to read even now.
